Dharma Bums--"Haywire"
Another underrated Portland band. Definitely for the Replacements fan in all of us...Link
Coffin Break--"No Sleep 'Til The Stardust Motel"
An odd's 'n sod's album from Coffin Break. It consists of a few singles from C/Z / Sub Pop and a couple other stray tracks....Link
Rein Sanction--"Should Have Known / Jagged Line / Up With the Sun"
Picked this up a few years back. It was released on Flotation Records..which, if you havent yet, you should check out some time soon! Link

TAD--"Oppenheimer's Pretty Nightmare / Accident On The Way To Church
Uggh! Exams, work, more exams, more work..and before you know it, I havent posted anything in two weeks!! So I'm gonna post a lot of stuff tonight while I have a few minutes. I'm not gonna go into much detail about any of this stuff and, instead, let the music speak for itself. First up is this little single from the late-90's from TAD Link

Abdullah--Demo #3
Gonna change gears a little and post something by Abdullah. If you havent heard this band, then shame on you. They kick major ass.
This was their third demo and was released sometime in 1998-1999 time frame. I downloaded this off of some blog and cant remember the name of it right now...so thanks nameless blog wherever you are. Link
Weather Theatre--Dusk
Yet another criminally unknown Seattle band. Not sure if most would classify this as "grunge", but I do. Plus, it was recorded by Jack Endino..so that's a good enough stamp of approval for me. Think Room Nine..thats about the closest sound I can compare this to. And we all know Room Nine kicked ass. First heard this band on the "Secretions" compilation from C/Z a few years back..that compilation included H-Hour, Skin Yard, Coffin Break, and Pure Joy among others. Pretty good comp. I might post it here one day.
It took me forever to track a copy of this down, and when I did, I had to fuckin' track down another copy because the wonderful USPS obliterated my copy by stuffing it in my mail box for whatever reason. Anyway, enough bitching..enjoy Link

King Krab--"Harmony In Defeat"
Hailing from Ellensburg, WA! King Krab also had links to the whole Screaming Trees/Solomon Grundy/Valis/ Kitty Kitty/Kittitas..etc etc in the form of drummer Sean Hollister. Wanna know something even cooler? Mark Lanegan appears on this album under the pseudonym J. Ripplestick on the song "To The Sun". I think that alone makes this worth downloading. Dont you? Link
Nero's Rome--"Nero's Rome" LP
Another EXTREMELY under-appreciated Portland band. This is their self-titled 1992 album. Download here...or pay 25 bucks for the cheapest copy on amazon. Your choice..

Gravelpit--"Mountain"
So this Portland band was pretty much unknown. Which is a shame. If you like the Screaming Trees, you will like this band, I promise. Gravelpit eventually morphed into Mission 5...another great band worth checking out. I will eventually get around to posting Gravelpit's other two albums plus the two from Mission 5. For now, enjoy this..Link
